The best of the fishing has been found on the shores of South Wales again this week. The Spring Ray fishing has really taken off with some more great specimens hitting our beaches!

The Sargeant at Witches

Jamie Sargeant enjoyed a fantastic session on Witches Point in South Wales last weekend.

After some great reports, Jamie was hoping for the grand slam of rays in one night.

It was looking good, especially after landing a Thornback early doors, normally the hardest one of the four to find in South Wales.

He just needed a small eyed to complete the slam but it wasn’t to be.

Jamie was fishing with a basic 5/O pulley pennel loaded with a double Ammo blue Sandeel bait.

The hook of chioce was a 5/O Sakuma manta extra. It is a super strong and extremely sharp wide gaped hook. Ideal for fish baits, a good hook up, reliably strong and ideal for when you run into that bigger Blonde!

Great Spring ray fishing Jamie, well done matey!

Heading West

A group of lads from the Barry area of South Wales headed west over the weekend.

The main aim of the trip was to check out marks for this coming summers Tope fishing.

Whilst doing a recce on the rugged terrain the lads also wet a line or two, hoping to find a few Bull huss and they weren’t disappointed!

Mark Jones had a scratch in the morning and produced a good variety of bait fish.

Nice to see so many different species have arrived in the west, surely the larger predictors won’t be far behind!

The lads don’t mess around when they are fishing West.

They use big fish baits lashed onto large hooks, the bait of choice in this photo was Ammo Mackerel.

Great adventures and good fishing chaps!

Crumpy pulls a nice Blonde

After a few days of hell in his sick bed, it was nice to see Daniel Crump of Holton road angling back out on the beach.

Dan fished the evening tide on the Knap and pulled out this 13lb 3oz Blonde beauty!

He fished Sandeel baits on pulley pennels and ended up with a super bag of fish. He caught a load of dogs, whiting and a nice 12lb 2oz conger.

An estimated bag weight of 37lb plus!

That is super fishing Daniel, well done!

The fantastic Three

These three young lads from South Wales are fishing mad, always putting in the rod hours and getting regular results!

Great fishing guys, keep up the good work!

Kingston Nights

Dan from Cadbury angling enjoyed a fanatic session on Kingston Seymoor on Wednesday evening.

The sea wall can often fish well in April, Dan bagged three Thornback rays in a golden period of 20 minutes!

The fish all fell for Ammo Blueys fished on a pulley pennels.

It is great to see the Rays showing up in numbers once again at Kingston, on its day it really can be a super venue.

Great Spring ray fishing Dan!

The Anglers Danglers Big Meet

The lads had there latest meet last weekend on Ogmore Deeps.

The deeps is rammed with Dogfish at the moment but the eventual winner Chris Brown did manage a quality fish to take top honours!

Everyone really enjoyed this session, a good group of mates in the beautiful sunshine.
